Situation: Green Check Verified (GCV) is a financial technology company that provides compliant cannabis solutions and services to financial institutions. The company faced several challenges, including navigating complex regulatory frameworks and gaining the trust of financial institutions. It also had to break through the barrier that the media created surrounding the misconception that cannabis-related businesses could not get access to banking solutions.
Strategy: The first priority was to build a strong brand messaging that positioned GCV as a trusted and reliable partner for financial institutions and cannabis-related businesses. We focused on raising awareness of its solutions and worked to build a strong thought leadership presence utilizing the backgrounds, experiences and strengths of its executives. This approach allowed us to draft content on a number of creative topics that went beyond the company’s offerings, such as regulatory issues and policies, as well as cannabis trends in other industries like blockchain and the metaverse.
Results: We were able to secure media interviews and coverage across top-tier and verticals like financial, banking/payments, and cannabis trades. We built the executives’ profiles to be go-to thought leaders in the space, with reporters utilizing their insights repeatedly across multiple articles. Beyond this, we drafted and placed bylines in top-tier publications and secured podcasts and state-specific local coverage.
